Rescue Me ID: 14-07-27-00169Cockatiels
Rehoming my two cockatiels. Bred from the same parents about a year ago. They haven't tried mating. I believe the white one is a boy & the grey pied is a girl. The white one likes to whistle and chatter, the other doesn't. They are a bit timid at first but do love cuddles and being pet. I will not separate them. I love them, but I fear I don't have the time as a full time student to give them what they need. Experienced bird owners only please. This is not a pet for a child, nor a college student. You must understand the attention that they will need - I let them out of their cage everyday for at least an hour alone. Looking for someone who will be able to give them at least that. If I can't find someone who will give them the love and affection that they need, then I will not give them up. Looking for the perfect pet parents for these guys. Comes with cage, food (hardly used), toys, large playgym (sits perfectly ontop of cage, they usually just hang out on there) and millet spray. Basically everything that I have of theirs. Each bird was $100, their food alone was $20 + all of the toys and cage... I am asking only $200 for the perfect home. I have a dog, and they've been around him - they sort of just freeze up when he gets near them, but he's afraid of them anyway so it works out. Their wings are not clipped, though they have been before. They are both in the same cage. Serious inquires only. You must come and meet me & them first. If everything works out, you can take them home that day. Please email and text for more information. Post will be deleted when new home is found for my feathered friends. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-20-00322Parakeet (female)
Two (2) Parakeets looking for their new home! Polly (pictured) and Silas are best of friends and need to be adopted together. The one pictured is a female, dominate temperament, not tame and the other budgie is Silas who is a male, submissive, semi-tame. They love to play with their toys so the adopter must be able to purchase and swap-out the toys regularly. Contact us for more information!

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-20-00344Cockatiel (female)
Hello, there are actually two cockatiels we are seeking a good family for: Male, grey, around 9 years old, temperamental, but I feel this is due to not having more human contact. He is sweet with the yellow female. They are cage mates and cannot be separated. Female, yellow, around 9 years old, very sweet nature. The grey male is her cage mate, and cannot be separated. Although I do not know from first hand experience, I feel they would do fine with other birds. Their wings are not clipped. Long story short, these birds were my dad's before he passed. My mom has tried caring from them, but having COPD, it is difficult for her to tolerate cleaning them with the dander. Birds come with a large cage and all the accessories. Thank You. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bird in Ohio
Birds can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. Exotic tropical birds such as Parrots and Cockatiels, as well as Finches, Doves, Pigeons, and other varieties, are often kept in captivity as beautiful and interesting pets. Unfortunately, many owners may not know how to care for their birds properly, while others experience life changes that may leave their pets without a suitable home. Captive birds can suffer from nutritional deficiencies, psychological stress, and many other problems when they do not receive proper care. Many wild exotic birds are endangered as a result of the international pet trade. Non-profit bird sanctuaries provide homes for some birds for whom their owners can no longer provide care. However, many more of these birds need to be adopted by committed owners who have taken the time to thoroughly understand what it takes to care for the birds. A person who is ready for the responsibility of owning a bird should seriously consider adopting one rather than buying a new one.
