|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-01-00312Solomon Island Eclectu (male)|
Pair of unrelated Solomon Island Eclectus parrots. 15 months old. Due to complications with my allergies and asthma, we have to rehome our pet birds. 'Shrek & Fiona' are hand tamed and very friendly. Fiona is more outgoing than Shrek. Although they are not a breeding pair, we will not separate them. They have been together since they were very young. They spend all day together in their room and out on the parrot tower, but when we have to leave the house and at night, they have their own separate cages. They play and interact with each other and do a good job of entertaining each other (and us)! Neither of these guys talk....yet, however, they are very close. We expect Fiona will be saying 'hello' any day now! Both Fiona and Shrek are in excellent feather/health condition. Their flight feathers are just growing in and we are working on flight training. We have worked with both birds using a pointer/clicker. These guys are smart and eager to learn new things! We are asking for $500/each bird. Price negotiation/payment plan available to the right home. The price is negotiable however be prepared to go through an extensive application process and two home visits (first visit, you come to us, second, we come to you). We are more concerned about finding them a good home than the money. Shrek and Fiona will come with an abundance of toys, a pvc 'parrot tower', and a hanging play gym. They will also come with their large, double stack cage. We also have available a 4 foot round gazebo type cage that you can put on your patio or deck so they can enjoy outdoor time (extra $$). I would highly suggest you have a dedicated 'bird room' and own your own home. These guys aren't super noisy, however they do have a couple times of the day where they are somewhat vocal. Shrek and Fiona have experience around dogs (we have three boxers) and older kids. Serous inquiries only. If you can provide love and affection for the next 40 years, please shoot me an email. (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Bird in Wisconsin|
Birds can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Exotic tropical birds such as Parrots and Cockatiels, as well as Finches, Doves, Pigeons, and other varieties, are often kept in captivity as beautiful and interesting pets. Unfortunately, many owners may not know how to care for their birds properly, while others experience life changes that may leave their pets without a suitable home. Captive birds can suffer from nutritional deficiencies, psychological stress, and many other problems when they do not receive proper care. Many wild exotic birds are endangered as a result of the international pet trade. Non-profit bird sanctuaries provide homes for some birds for whom their owners can no longer provide care. However, many more of these birds need to be adopted by committed owners who have taken the time to thoroughly understand what it takes to care for the birds. A person who is ready for the responsibility of owning a bird should seriously consider adopting one rather than buying a new one.
