     What a terrific resource this website is to find a new home for our birds. We are moving overseas and the journey along with a lengthy quarantine is just too difficult for a pair of young Linnies. Within three days of posting our birds, we have found a terrific new home for them. The somewhat local new owner is a bird lover and has a dedicated bird room in her home, we are so relieved and thankful to have found her. I have tried through craigslist for finding a home and what a nightmare. Rescue Me is a life saver. Thank you!

     Posted my story about Buster on Rescue Me looking for a forever home, received many emails, texts and phone calls. Talked to a lot of people and selected someone that I believe will give him a wonderful home! Didn't think I would find someone that would want a Mealy Amazon, but was very surprised by the number of people that did!! However, I believe that you have to ask the question, are you a breeder? Because I really wanted a home for my Mealy and not money, I got a lot of calls from people who were breeders saying they just wanted to give the bird a good home, but someone told me, if the bird didn't breed, they would sell it for $$. I'm glad that I got that phone message, it opened my eyes to the right questions to ask!

     I can't say enough good things about Rescue Me. I posted on Saturday and by Monday I had 15 people ask about the blue crown Conure. He was adopted Monday night by someone who drove three and a half hours to get him. She even took his sidekick, a 25 year old cockatiel. What a relief. My friend who owned the birds passed away early Friday morning unexpectedly, so it was a relief for me to find the boys a loving home. This website is so easy to use and was really helpful with reminders about what was best. The person who sets up the website did a fantastic job. Thanks so much to Rescue Me and all the wonderful people who were willing to give these orphans a home. I'm just sorry I couldn't make everyone a bird owner. Keep looking... Your pet is out there!

     Thanks, Rescue Me! It took a week to find the right forever home. Once I chose the perfect home, I drove 16 hours to deliver her to a lovely lady who had a few other birds. Athena was content and took to her new momma with easy. So pleased she has a good new home and family.

     What a great experience! After our long-time parakeet, Roger, died of old age we decided that after 16 years and six parakeets, we had enough of keeping pet birds. I posted Sweetie Pi's picture and story on Rescue Me and the next day got an inquiry from a woman whose own rescue parakeet had died some months earlier. She also has rescue cockatiels and she thought the cockatiels would have a similar enough song to comfort little Pi. We arranged to meet in a town between our two locations and we handed her over. The new owner promised to send photos of Pi after she gets settled in her new home. We gave the new owner the bird, her cage, her toys, a half bag of food and carrot tops, her favorite treat. I am confident she has found an excellent new home. Now, we just have to get used to a house that doesn't have the cheerful sound of parakeet songs!

     I brought Ariel home on Friday and she was a little shy at first. A little bitey as can be expected, but after spending one day together and letting her get used to her new surroundings and to me she is doing great!!! She is the only bird and loves all of the attention that she gets. She is beginning to use some of her vocabulary such as step up, bye bye, and love you. I absolutely love her and will be her forever Mommy. Thank you, Rescue Me, for such an amazing rescue.

     We had four Diamond Doves. We provided all the best food, vitamins, and living environment. We even kept classical music playing for them. We cared deeply for the doves, but we couldn't devote the amount of human interaction they needed, so we decided it was time to find them a better home. We talked to friends, went around to all the local pet and bird establishments, but none could or would take them. Animal Control and the local no-kill animal shelters were willing to take the birds, but we didn't like not knowing who would be adopting the birds or if they would keep the mated pair together. Petfinders.org is used by shelters only. We decided to take the chance of posting the doves on Rescue Me. We liked that we could interview potential owners. We decided to ask for an appreciable dollar amount for the birds (plus cage & supplies) and we made adopting as a pair a requirement. In less than a week we got a response. The family who adopted the doves were a perfect fit. They already had birds and were looking to expand. We were able to meet the family and talk to them. They adopted all four Diamond Doves. We were so thankful that the birds were going to such a great home, we decided not to charge and give the family the birds with their cages and supplies (several hundreds of dollars worth). We are staying in touch as the doves' transition into their new home. We felt confident we were putting the doves in a safe and happy home. We really appreciate the services Rescue Me provides, the adoption wouldn't have happened without them.

     I spent almost two months searching for a suitable home for Buttercup who is a very sweet bird but just has some fear issues because of a rough start at the pet store where we got her. I found Rescue Me, posted a picture of her and a brief description. I only had to wait a few days and started getting responses from people wanting to give my bird a home. I then got a fantastic offer from a couple who lives in Tampa who can give her what I cannot, which is companionship of other birds, freedom to fly and much more! Though I'm sad, I know this is the best option for her and I also know she'll be in good hands.

     I posted my blue and gold Macaw, Dorie, about 10:00 in the morning. There were over 20 calls in the first 24 hours. After looking over the calls, texts and emails and a few visits by folks checking Dorie out and me checking them out, I selected the individual that would be Dorie's new owner. It happened to be the first contact, an email. After a couple of phone conversations I decided that this is the one for Dorie and my wife and I. Success! Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Thanks to Roberta, my baby was adopted to her. We received several responses and after a couple phone interviews with her, we decided she was the one. We met halfway yesterday and we felt even better. She called after she got home to let us know they made it safe and that he transferred from the travel cage to his home cage easily. We loved him to death, but after my husband's stroke, he wasn't getting the attention he needed. We'll miss him and continue to love him immensely, but he needs to come first.      We found a very compassionate adoption match for our long beloved Cockatiel, Smokey. The person had a Cockatiel, Cheeco, whose companion had passed away. Smokey will now be Cheeco's companion for what we hope is the remainder of his life. This second stage of Smokey's adult life will be a new adventure for him as he has never been with another bird of kin, as one would put it. So we hope this match is a very happy experience for him and we owe all that to Rescue Me. It only took a couple months to find a match and I would recommend this website very highly to advertise any available adoption for anyone's pet out there that needs a trusting, loving, compassionate owner and home.      I found my first pair of Conures thru Rescue Me. A bonded Sun and Jenday have bonded with me since the next day they came to their new forever home. I am so happy with them & so are my kids. I can't thank the previous owner enough for selecting our home to be their home. I went from a no bird house to getting these two, plus a Parrotlet and bonded pair of Lovebirds all adopted! Just the conures are from Rescue Me but they all needed a loving home with plenty of attention time and time out of the cage. I am still working on the taming the others.      We took a 550 mile round trip to Virginia to adopt this cute senior cockatiel. Previous owners are moving and could not take him with them. As we do have other senior birds,taking another one into our home was not an issue. It was very difficult for them to give him up as he had been with them most of his life. I thanked them for putting his adoption request on Rescue Me otherwise we probably would not have been able to adopt him.We use rescue me for all our adoptions/rescues and highly recommend this site.we have never had any issues with any of the birds we have adopted and have also made new friends in the process. As stated earlier, we highly recommend Rescue Me for adopting or having to give up any animal for adoption.

     Rescue Me is a Godsend. I have been trying to rehome my bird for several years. Changing circumstances in my life didn't allow me to spend enough time with her, and I knew she was not at her happiest. Each time I found someone willing to take her, I checked the environment and it never felt right. Also, my bird needed someone who understands and loves birds because she can be aggressive and very demanding. Somehow last week I found the Rescue Me website and thought it was worth posting my bird, Kora, one more time. On Saturday, I posted a picture of my bird and an honest description of her on Rescue Me! On Sunday, a wonderful bird loving lady responded that she was interested in Kora. I spoke with her on the phone and she sent pictures of her bird that looks just like Kora. I drove to her house to see if it was a good match, and Kora instantly took to this woman. She sat on this lady's finger, then on her shoulder and didn't strike at her or try to bite her (which is her usual behavior with strangers.) And then her bird and Kora started communicating with each other! She said her bird is usually aggressive with other birds, and he actually seemed to like Kora! I left Kora with this lovely lady and her boyfriend (he gets toys and chew items for the birds). They sent me pictures of her that evening, again perched on this woman's shoulder. They told me I could visit Kora anytime, which was also a comfort to me.

     I happily adopted a little parakeet called 'Greenie', age nine. He is adorable. I love Rescue Me! Every bird listed is in obvious good health and I felt completely confident in adopting Greenie because of the professionalism of the site itself. Each person I contacted regarding prospective adoption was interested in finding just the right home for their beloved bird/parrot. Greenie's mom brought him all the way from San Francisco to me and brought his cage and food as well. Greenie was obviously a beloved member of the family, who was in the process of relocating and couldn't take Greenie along. I'm very happy with Rescue Me and highly recommend this site as legitimate and informative, so much so, I am in talks at present to adopt a parrot!

     We tried other organizations to find a home for Bianca with no success. Then, I learned about Rescue Me and posted to the site. Within twelve hours, inquiries started coming regarding Bianca. We were able to find a home where there had been a parrot in the recent past, plus other animals in the family and the new caregiver seemed to get along with Bianca straight away. We highly recommend Rescue Me if you are in the position where you must find a loving home for a friend you can no longer maintain. It was sad, but we know we did the right thing for Bianca.

     I recently put my Cockatoo, Bam, on Rescue Me. Having had her for 26 years made this extremely difficult. However, my situation with a mentally ill spouse made this a must. I received an inquiry from Lori and within days, believed that this would be a perfect match. We met and she and her beautiful daughter seemed to be the perfect loving people to take my feathered baby and offer her the best solution possible.

     I just found a wonderful and loving forever home for little Hannibal! I found him in the gutter a bit over a year ago and he was in rough shape. With a trip to the vet and proper medications, he fully recovered! Unfortunately, I have a large dog and this caused Hannibal much anxiety. He was never able to fully bond.      I've subscribed to Rescue Me for quite a while now. I have previously adopted two Conures from this site. The lady that had them had life changing things and wasn't able to properly care for them anymore. My most recent adoption will take a while to adjust to her new home. This is totally normal, it does take some time for a parrot to adjust to both new ppl and surroundings. This one is a little different, because she was rescued from what I understand was a 'bird mill' that was shut down from the state where she was bred. She was also confined in a cage much too small for her and the number of other parrots kept in the same small cage. She has plucked most of her feathers, but I won't know until I can get her to my avain vet early next week if she will ever regrow them. I don't care, I just want what's best for her and to make sure she is healthy and happy for the rest of her life. Thanks to the wonderful lady that chose me to bring this precious parrot to her forever home.

     I wasn't able to handle this parrot so I was forced to look for somebody with enough patience to keep her. With some research, I found Rescue Me, posted 'Peppa' and immediately received a bunch of emails of people very interested.      Joey found a very loving home with a lady who lost a Sun Conure when it died eight years ago. He is taken out every day to be played with and talked to.      I am so thankful for Rescue Me! I had been very nervous about finding a good, loving home for our one year old pet Conure, Mango. Within two hours of posting, four people contacted me. It was very obvious all of these folks were bird lovers, and this helped put my mind at ease. The first family who contacted me had two birds and wanted another! They lived minutes away, and my husband and I invited them to meet Mango. It was heartwarming to watch the interaction they had with Mango; she took to them (and their two grandchildren) right away! I knew right then they were the perfect fit. I don't have to worry about Mango getting love and affection, and that means the world to me! Thank you so much!!!
